Tell us a little about how you were born.
Well... let's say that the pandemic has unlocked a few situations everywhere, inside the house, there is certainly time to think and do. At that time, our producer Antonio, alias “Todd (Italy)”, had just finished producing our first piece (AICHEDDURAVITA) and the fact surprised all four of us because the randomness of events, alignments of thought or stuff like that, without having warned us, we had begun to experiment with some texts in Sicilian. The mix between beat and lyrics stimulated us to go down this path.

Why did you choose this name for the group?
It's what they often ask us at the first meeting, rightly anyway. On the other hand, it's a name that generates the right level of curiosity. Well, this could be a reason. But, honestly, we didn't waste much time choosing, it was a word that was messed around with in the group at that time, and we kept it as it was.

How does the creative process start? And how do you develop your songs?
Badly... No, joking aside, the songs are born from the beats. The title of the track gives us the topic. Up to now, it has stimulated us all to compose, so for now, we keep it up. Specifically for the verses, everyone writes his own, and we all agree the choruses.

What are your lyrics about?
For now, we are working on projects that have the style of the pieces we have already published, where we describe the "classic" Sicilian standard of living, analysing the pros and cons of everything we experience every day on this beautiful island.

Plans for the future?
Well, it is difficult to think about the future, especially in this period. However, we try and say "ca si Diu voli" (if god wills), we will continue to make music in all its essence, which is what drives us to work in a group, not only among us but also with artists from our country (MALALUNA). We are also slowly opening up to different sounds from the current ones, both with the PODISTI project and with individual projects. We are not limited. We are open to anything that conveys positive energy.

What do you think of the Sicilian Clothing brand Minchia?
We met the "Minchia" brand through IG, and it immediately caught our eye. The name says it all, being the Word, the one that unites us as Sicilian to a certain extent and can be used in any situation, whether it's amazement, happiness or much more simply a curse, we could continue indefinitely. Because Minchia is everything and everything is Minchia. The PODISTI group winks at the brand and approves it because it is so stylish. We strongly believe in future collaborations. Before the brand, we appreciate the person who created it, so we want to congratulate Davide for the ideas he has put into practice and for his fantastic Sicilian clothing lines. Davide, we'll keep in touch about the order as soon as the PODISTI are all together, who knows maybe we'll shoot a branded video clip 😉
